Mission Statement

The aim of this section is to gain new insight into the pathogenesis of eye diseases and develop new treatment modalities. A specific focus is directed towards new imaging modalities in glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, dry eye symptom, and drug delivery.

Current Projects

  • Functional Optical Coherence Tomography
  • Neurovascular Coupling in the Retina and Optic Nerve Head
  • Mechanisms of Ocular Blood Flow Autoregulation
  • Role of Supplements in the Treatment of Eye Disease
  • New Approaches for the characterization and the treatment of Dry Eye Symptom

Cooperations

  • Center of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering, MUW
  • Department of Ophthalmology, MUW
  • Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science, University of Toronto, Canada
  • Devers Eye Institute, Portland, Oregon, USA
